About Diane

Diane Nierenberg is a Spanish-American actress and award-winning director originally from Madrid, Spain. Now splitting her time between Madrid and Los Angeles, Diane built much of her creative career in LA, where she studied filmmaking, trained as an actor, and began developing her voice as a storyteller.

After studying filmmaking in Los Angeles, Diane directed her first short film, The Worst Enemy, in 2018. In 2024, she made her feature film directorial debut with The Serenade Charade, a psychological thriller that earned awards for Best Director and Best Female Director, further establishing her as a filmmaker drawn to complex characters, emotional tension, and stories with a strong visual identity.

As an actress, Diane has appeared in films such as Xanadu Hellfire, One in a Blue Moon, and Blue Murder. Her performance work is shaped by training with Lesly Kahn & Co. and Doug Warhit, bringing emotional depth, instinct, and authenticity to her roles.

Diane’s work often centers on strong, layered women and explores themes of vulnerability, resilience, transformation, and the hidden psychology behind human behavior. Whether working in drama, thriller, fantasy, or sci-fi, she is drawn to stories that push reality just far enough to reveal something deeply human.

With a filmmaker’s eye for detail and an actor’s sensitivity to silence, Diane believes storytelling lives not only in dialogue, but in what remains unspoken: the pause before a confession, the look that changes a scene, the gesture that reveals the truth. Her work is driven by atmosphere, emotional honesty, and a fascination with the inner worlds people try to hide.
